Success – Means what exactly?- Discussion.
Success? – Well its a moving target. Its possibly meaningless in a large sense. A successful life? Well all lives are successful (To God, or Nature – you, we, I existed – success!)
In a small sense, a successful trip, a successful deal, a successful boat ride. Successful sex? Sort of meaningless again isnt it? So small its not worth worrying about.Or writing a book about. Ok maybe a blog post about.
But we do worry
Books are written – books? – libraries, writers fortunes are made on ‘success’ books. “The idiots guide to success” – is that written yet ?- if so -tip – skip that title, because of well…the title.
Success is the progressive realization of worthwhile dreams and goals. Right?
Is it?
Sounds good.
Here’s a thought – success for you, in the Large sense- a life lived fully – successfully - is different than for me, than for you, or that woman over there or her or him – or my cat. Its a moving target.
But worth exploring, because all journeys towards a significant goal produce …joy?
Its the journey not the goal, perhaps.
Its the movement towards rather than the getting there.
We live in a goal centered world – the Western world that is, N. America, Europe. Goal driven , money driven, the goal is money and money is the goal.
The problem as you spot right away – money has no…well currency. No meaning, no ‘life’ value – its merely a medium, markers, an exchange medium. So money as an end in itself, riches as an end in themselves – what was it that book said – ‘vanity of vanities’?
Now lets make money – O yes. But on the way – lets…
A person said to me once – do you ‘prosper’? Prosper ?- I like that. Sort of spiritual and sort of not. Prosper.
Are you ‘prospering in you life? Not bad.
An abundant life? That’s good too
The there’s failure – is that the other side of success, or merely a thing you go through to success?
Here’s some thoughts: -
Is success an end thing. Is it a destination?
Is failure a destination?
If you could not fail, and everything cost nothing – what would you do. Right now.
If you are at the end of your life and you look back – what do you see, what are you looking for? The 100 best tweets I should of tweeted before I die? I think not.
If you depend on a friend or a loved one for your exclusive happiness – you are in for trouble – and possibly also an emotional tyrant (Just a thought)
Friendship – you, me giving friendship is a joy. Giving love is a joy. Depending on it, is a drug, a crutch.Dangerous.
Financial success is having how much money exactly?
There was a debate with Bill Gates and Warren Buffett. And they were asked – what is the Most Important thing in your life?
And Warren Buffet said – my friends, and Bill looked shocked (friends? how do you code that?) and then smiled and shrugged.
How do you define success? How do you define a worthwhile way of living, today, right now. What brings you joy?
I’m just asking.
Ok this is a set up – I am about to release two e-books, almost work books – one on Success, and one on Time Management. Both will deal with goal setting of course, financial, and personal, and health goals and others.

The ‘time’ e book – will have worksheets for you to fill in. If you want X at a given dat what do you need 6 months from now, 3 months from now etc.
There will be worksheets to fill in that help you plan both time, work habit and goal setting for ‘success’ and goal achievement.
Also worksheets that breakdown different aspects of success you can aim for in your life.
And more , of course.
