<p>What was it that compelled them to make that decision?</p>
<p>Here are 8 tips on making your (PPC) ad successful:</p>
<p>1. Split-test every ad you write and track conversions. Always write at least two ads for every ad group… right from the start. One ad will out perform the other. Continue by split testing the winning ad with a new one. Always be split-testing, tweaking and fine-tuning your ads.</p>
<p>2. Your ad needs to be relevant to the keyword they searched for. Make sure your ad groups are arranged according to relevance and write specific ads for each ad group. Sometimes I wait until a campaign has made a few sales before worrying about this, but relevancy is key to long term successful campaigns.</p>
<p>3. The headline of your ad is the main attention-getter. This is a good place to use use dynamically inserted keywords so that your ad title matches up with what the searcher was looking for. Before you decide to use dynamic titles, be sure that your ad group is specific so that the ad copy matches the dynamic title that appears.</p>
<p>4. Look at the competition, but think of how you could add a twist to the existing headlines. For example, if you search &#8220;tattoo&#8221; you’ll find tons of uninspired headlines like &#8220;Tattoo Library&#8221; and &#8220;Pictures Of Tattoos&#8221;. Instead, be creative and get their attention: &#8220;Stop Ugly Tattoos&#8221;</p>
<p>5. Find the keywords in your campaign with the highest number of clicks or impressions and use those as headlines or include them in your ad text. Keywords you include in your ad text are automatically in bold type if a user has entered the keywords as part of their query. This will draw attention to your ad.</p>
<p>6. Use numbers &amp; characters in the ad text to stand out. Use quotations, question marks, dollar signs and percentages. You can even use one line of ad text for short testimonials that are enclosed by quotation marks. It gives LIFE to the words.</p>
<p>7. Include the benefits &amp; features of the product or service within the ad text. This is always a safe bet. The searcher is looking for a solution. Does your ad assure them you have one?</p>
<p>8. Be sure the ad has a clear and motivating call to action that tells them why to click on YOUR ad …and not the others. This is the part of the ad that makes them want to click it and see what you have to offer.</p>

Your prospect/buyer/victim &#8211; can use, and will use email, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook or no response to tell you if you are making progress.</p>
<h3><strong>A (targeted) list of email names</strong>:</h3>
<p>Gold. Wealth.Security. Your financial security. Worth working for and at. If you have a job what do they pay you for all that work &#8211; <em>after the</em> <em>work</em>. Nothing. A list is your money in the bank. Your capital that pays dividends forever.</p>
<p>Not a purchase list or a scoopred lkst or a random spam list. A list you have built up, or sdomeone else who will &#8216;lend; you their list has built up, where everyone on the list has put up their hand (digitally as it were) when they were asked &#8211; do you like X, and if I had it would you buy it?</p>

<p>someone who makes a lot of money on the internet with above type of businesses, and will make money from you and some point.. The question is, the only quesion is, will you benefit as well. Sometimes yes, sometimes no.How do you find out. As<a href="http://www.income.com/blog/2009/03/"> John Reese</a> says. Test. Test. Test</p>
<h3><strong>Failure</strong>:</h3>
<p>Required. Not as a destination, as an action. You think that internet software will make you rich &#8211; go ahead try. It doesn&#8217;t. Learn and move on. Dont be afraid to Test.Test.Test. (see<a href="http://www.income.com/blog/2009/03/"> John Reese</a>)</p>
<h3><strong>Applied effort</strong>:</h3>
<p>required. Not an option. No matter what &#8216;they&#8217; say &#8211; all business is work to get it going.</p>
<p>What the Internet allows is an ongoing business, a residual income business, a low start up business cost, a failure rate that doesn&#8217;t kill you, a place you can fail (safely) and  if you work and follow a proven model (and there are many), or work and fail and work and fail, until you create your own business model &#8211; guaranteed success( whatever that means to you)</p>
<h3><strong>Scarcity:</strong></h3>
<p><strong> </strong> Off-line economic thinking. Its about control and command. Although of course there is no true infinity in our material world,nevertheless the concept of &#8216;thinking&#8217; scarcity limits you, as it is intended. (The Wall Streets bankers , please note , are never thinking scarcity &#8211; after all there&#8217;s always more bailouts when you need them)</p>
<h3><strong>Abundance</strong>:</h3>
<p>A thinking model that works on the internet. There&#8217;s always more people to get on your list, there always another affiliate program if this one doesn&#8217;t work, there&#8217;s always another opportunity on the next page, and there&#8217;s always more people than you can ever reach.</p>

<p>Eye tracking studies have revealed valuable information about how people read and interact with websites. One study, <a href="http://www.poynterextra.org/eyetrack2004/main.htm">Eyetrack III</a>, published <a href="http://www.poynterextra.org/eyetrack2004/main.htm">a summary of their eye tracking results for news sites.</a></p>
<p>While this is just one eye tracking study focused on a particular type of site, I think there are instructive nuggets here for any informational website.</p>
<p>In no particular order, here are 12 results I found particularly interesting.</p>
<p>1.Headlines draw eyes before pictures. This might be surprising for some people since the trend has been to add photos and graphics specifically to draw the eye. Even I have been adding more photos to my blog to spice it up a bit.</p>
<p>But the participants in this study looked at headlines, especially in the upper left of the page, before they looked at photos when they landed on a page. So you can’t rely on eye candy to make up for poor headlines.</p>
<p>2. People scan the first couple words of a headline. Yes, long headlines can work. But this study suggests that people scan the first few words before deciding whether to continue reading.</p>
<p>This means you should front-load your headlines with the most interesting and provocative words. It’s also an argument for getting your keywords up front in headlines.</p>
<p>3. People scan the left side of a list of headlines. This is related to the previous point. When presented with a list of headlines or links, people will scan down the left side, looking at the first couple words, to find something they’re interested in. They don’t necessarily read each line beginning to end.</p>
<p>The implication is the same as before. Get your most mind catching words up front.</p>
<p>4. Your headline must grab attention in less than 1 second. Online readers are grazers. They move fast and nibble. If you want to hook them into spending time reading about something, you have to catch their attention very, very fast.</p>
<p>No nonsense. No meandering copy. No “throat clearing” to fill space. You have to get to the point instantly.</p>
<p>5. Smaller type promotes closer reading. This makes sense because smaller type is harder to read. So, to read it, you have to really focus. Larger type promotes scanning rather than reading.</p>
<p>Be careful with this one. No one is suggesting you shrink your web type to make it barely legible. I think the takeaway is to avoid making your type too big if you want close reading and avoid making it too small if you want to communicate rapidly.</p>
<p>6. Navigation at the top of the page works best. I find this interesting from a design point of view since many sites now use side navigation. I take this one with grain of salt, since the study also shows that side navigation can work fine.</p>
<p>The point may be that anything at the top of a page will be seen immediately. And since top navigation must be simple because of space limits, top navigation is probably much simpler to use.</p>
<p>7. Short paragraphs encourage reading. No surprise here. Even in print this is true. Big blocks of type look imposing and difficult, like reading a Faulkner novel where a paragraph goes on seemingly forever.</p>
<p>In online writing as in most ad writing, you have to forget normal paragraph development. Breaks should be logical, but they’re organized into a flow of ideas rather than distinct paragraphs.</p>
<p>8. Introductory paragraphs enjoy high readership. Just to be clear, an intro paragraph is a content summary that appears after the headline and before the main text. It’s common in some news writing. I’ve also used it in print ads which are designed in the form of an article, often called an “advertorial.”</p>
<p>The downside is that while intros get read, this study says they don’t affect readership of the main text. Maybe they help improve comprehension. The study doesn’t say.</p>
<p>9. Ad placement in the top and left positions works best. For anyone familiar with “heat maps,” this make sense. The eye tends to start in the upper left of a page. So an ad, or anything else, in that area will be noticed.</p>
<p>This is another one you have to be wary of. Ad blindness tends to happen when people get used to seeing ads in a particular place. So even the prime upper left area won’t work so well if you always put ads there.</p>
<p>10. People notice ads placed close to popular content. Obviously. This mimics the well-known idea in the offline world where ads are placed anywhere eyeballs point.</p>
<p>This is why ads right over a urinal work. Men look straight ahead, usually at a blank wall 12 inches from their face when standing at a urinal, so any reading material there will get read.</p>
<p>11. People read text ads more than graphic ads. Not everyone will agree with this one. But it makes sense if you consider that information is usually in the form of text. So people looking for information are looking for text, not pictures.</p>
<p>However, graphics can be useful for conveying information that is difficult to communicate in pure text, such as how something looks, mathematical information, before and after comparisons, etc. Which leads us to the last tactic.</p>
<p>12. Multimedia works better than text for unfamiliar or conceptual information. Reading relies on people having some understanding of the subject. The more familiar they are with the subject, the faster and easier reading is.</p>
<p>If you’re trying to describe a process, for example, a video or illustration conveys this information better than text.</p></div>

<p>There have been comments made ( a lot of comments &#8211; and hey some weren&#8217;t nice) that I was  using a bad/unfair analogy.</p>
<p>The Frank Kern&#8217;s etc of this world it is said : -</p>

<p>Ok &#8211; fine</p>
<p>First of all I don&#8217;t know, have never met, never talked to the Frank Kern or John Reese&#8217;s of this world, I have just observed what they do, so this could all be out to lunch (launch?) anyway.</p>
<p>But IMHO -</p>
<p>Lets stick with my analogy &#8211; the Frank Kerns etc of this world selling cars (lets say) on the Internet.</p>
<p><em>And why I like to muse of this topic its because I do have experience with large brand companies trying to market on the Internet and doing really dumb things and then giving up.</em></p>
<p>The Internet is a new medium not like the old media. You need new thinking, and that&#8217;s what these Internet &#8216;guru&#8217;s have. Sure its Direct Marketing.But its Direct Marketing that has to work within a dialogue between the end user (usually the victim in most marketing strategies &#8211; stack em and sell em anyway you can) and the seller.</p>
<p>And  I think Ford and Exxon etc spend a lot more &#8211; make that A LOT MORE money than the&#8217;gurus&#8217; spend on marketing. Did I say A LOT MORE?</p>
<p>Back to the comments</p>
<p>1)First of all why would they have to sell a hard product from the Internet. All they would have to sell is &#8216;access&#8217; to a hard product. A downloaded form, a membership access, that a dealer can check. The Automobile manufacturers already have a delivery system &#8211; the dealership network.They dont need a delivery system &#8211; what they need is people coming through the dealers doors.</p>
<p>All that has to be sold is access. A membership that could be activated at the dealership after the customer has activated themselves at the landing page or whatever and applied for credit (perhaps). For instance &#8211; pay $25,000 you get this code that allows you to visit any (lets say) Ford dealership and get this car free.</p>
<p>The first 200 get an X upgrade.</p>
<p>Profitability. On a say $15,000 car there is little profit. But a) why would they sell a $15,000 car when they are experts at the upsell, and b) there would tons  of room for a back end.</p>
<p>Cars can be upgraded, accessories can be added and upgraded, there&#8217;s trade ins for the new models, lease options, monthly payment options  on and on &#8211; and soon the cars themselves with all their CPUs for the luxuries will have upgradeable software. You want the standard Deluxe or Ultimate software package Mr Smith?</p>
<p>But how about  Premier check in service for all those who&#8230;? How about free ebooks on maintenance of that model for all those who&#8230;?How about free ebook on highway travel guide for all those</p>
<p>who&#8230;? How about Premier Hotel/Motel upgrades for all those who&#8230;.?</p>
<p>Everyone wants a customer, that&#8217;s what the advertising business is all about &#8211; when  the &#8216;gurus&#8217; produce customers the potential for cross promotion, cross product marketing is limitless. And every extra manufacturer of a product would pay.</p>
<p>The challenge is never the type of product or the particular brand in this market driven consumer society &#8211; the challenge is to get the consumer to buy. And that&#8217;s what the &#8216;gurus can do IMHO</p>
<p>The problem is the comments are generated by old school thinking.</p>
<p>The &#8216; gurus&#8217; are thinking new tech, new ideas, new delivery mechanisms, new profit margin creation.</p>
<p>The thing is they are thinking. All the time. About how to take advantage and maximise this every changing Interent thing</p>
<p>The major brands are not.</p>

<p>Chevy put up a website to allow the consumers to create all their own ads &#8211; the Chevy Tahoe was slammed, the website pulled it down. But too late the fake ads were all over Youtube, and didnt go away.<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ai-RMD39aos">Check a few here</a></p>
<p>The problem &#8211; Chevy didnt want to, wasnt interested in &#8211; and still doesnt  LISTEN.</p>
<p>Advertisers, Manufacturers want to SELL, not LISTEN</p>

<p>Think this through</p>
<p>Lets say Ford made an offer to them. Help us sell vehicles.</p>
<p>Well first of all Ford would have to allow a dialogue. First of all they would have to be open to letting their buyers have input.</p>
<p>Lets say Ford agreed.</p>
<p>Frank et al. &#8211; would ask us, the market -&#8217; so what kind of vehicle would you want , what sort of price range etc?&#8217;.</p>
<p>They would create a dialogue. Forums, back and forth.</p>
<p>They would create a dialogue and a buzz, and they would make sure it was heard all over the internet.</p>
<p>Can you imagine the buzz? Hey these guys are talking about this car and man its got&#8230;<img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-260" title="f4mages" src="http://www.martingover.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/f4mages.jpg" alt="f4mages" width="126" height="84" /></p>
<p>Can you imagine?</p>
<p>Then Ford would have to agree to build a car to the markets (not Fords, not Frank&#8217;s, not Obama&#8217;s) but the markets needs.</p>
<p>Then they would start the pre-launch. And well we all know how that goes,</p>
<p>Then as Frank says &#8211; the would &#8220;stack the cool&#8221; &#8211; really stack the cool.</p>
<p>Lets pause to imagine that&#8230;</p>
<p>Wow.</p>
<p>An then one day, a Tuesday maybe, at say 6 am Pacific, 9 am Eastern &#8211; the site would go live and &#8211; how many cars do you think they could sell? (how many server farms would crash?)</p>
<p>You say &#8211; &#8220;No way &#8211; because nobody could pay a lump sum &#8211; its not a DVD course, its a car $15 &#8211; 20,ooo.How would they get the car, who would deliver it &#8211; how -&#8221;</p>
<p>Sssh</p>
<p>That would have been part of the dialogue, that would have been dicussed, that would have been settled, pre launch. That would all have been taken care of.</p>
<p>Thats why you have dialogue with your maketplace, to figure the deal out.</p>
<p>So again how many cars do you think thee could sell?</p>
<p>How many?</p>
<p>The question is &#8211; could Ford make enough cars?</p>
<p>The reason the big guys arent on the Internet, isnt because they dont want to &#8211; its because they don&#8217;t want to learn.</p>

<p>When it comes to consulting and/or selling one’s expertise there will always be those that believe every piece of knowledge or discovery is already <em>known</em> by others. And these same people believe that information can easily be found on the Internet — so they believe they have no need to invest in consulting, buying a training course, etc.</p>
<p>There is A LOT of extremely valuable business and marketing information that is not ‘publicly’ known. New discoveries are made everyday. Anyone that ever thinks they <em>know it all</em> in ANY market or area of expertise is an IDIOT. We should ALL constantly strive to learn more about our respective interests and industries.</p>
<p>As far as “secrets” are concerned, this is a different story. The word “secrets” has, and probably always will be, one of the most powerful words in the history of copywriting. And this is the reason that this word is often used to describe valuable information and is a popular choice to use in book and course titles. <em>i.e. my own <a href="http://www.trafficsecrets.com/">Traffic Secrets 2.0</a> product.</em></p>
<p>But even if every piece of knowledge and information was being freely discussed on the Web, from articles to discussion forums to blogs, etc., the information itself is essentially WORTHLESS.</p>
<p>When it comes to Internet Marketing information it doesn’t matter if you know a few tricks to get top rankings in Google, or ways to pre-sell a prospect to increase the conversion of an affiliate offer, or a few words you can add to an order form to decrease shopping cart abandonment…</p>
<p><strong>The only thing that matters is YOUR STRATEGY.</strong></p>
<p>How you use the tactics and techniques. When? How often? What tactics can you combine? In what order do you execute them? And so on.</p>
<p>I’ve known many Internet marketers that actually know more information and knowledge about IM than some ‘gurus’ do. Yet these marketers FAIL. They don’t have much success building their online business. They struggle and struggle often. They end up feeling bitter and thinking that the techniques don’t actually work — or at least as well as some say they do.</p>
<p>The problem is simple… they know or have all the puzzle pieces, they just don’t know what to do with them.</p>
<p>In order to succeed and see positive progress in ANYTHING you do for your business you must use a solid strategy. A plan of action that fully defines what needs to be done and when. And then a plan for how to use the results (good or bad) to progress from that point forward.</p>
<p>So my advice is to pay less attention to learning so much about individual tactics and techniques and focus on a bigger picture of how to use MANY things together in a solid plan.</p>
<p>Even if you knew everything, or could find it somewhere, you’ll still need to know ‘what’ to do with it.  Don’t ever forget that.</p>

<p>A wise man who had studied success for more than 50 years concluded that the greatest success principle of all was, “learn from the experts.”</p>
<p>Learn From the Experts<br />
If you want to be a big success in any area, find out what other successful people in that area are doing, and do the same things, until you get the same results. When I studied the interviews, speeches, biographies and autobiographies of successful men and women, I found that they all had one quality in common. They were all described as being “extremely well organized.” They used their time very, very well. They were highly productive and they got vastly more done in the same period of time than the average person.</p>
<p>Be Both Effective and Efficient<br />
High performing men and women were both effective and efficient. They did the right things, and they did them in the right way. They were constantly looking for ways to improve the quality and quantity of their output. As a result, their contribution to their organizations was vastly higher and therefore much better paid, than the contributions of the average person.</p>
<p>Action Exercises<br />
Here are two things you can do immediately to put these ideas into action:</p>
<p>First, develop a study plan today to learn from the experts in your field. This can save you years of hard work.</p>

That&#8217;s why many new affiliate marketers decide to go with one of the most popular networks in the Internet world; ClickBank. Yet, is it worthy of its hype, especially when there are other networks that are just as promising?</p>
<p>Well, first off, unlike many other affiliate networks, ClickBank has a nearly flawless reputation. Not only have they never missed a payment, but they also have a very good rating with the Better Business Bureau. On top of that, almost every successful Internet marketer has worked with them at some point in their career and earned a substantial Clickbank income.</p>
<p>In addition, this network specializes in an area of retail that never loses its appeal&#8230; information. Only instead of promoting books, affiliates are expected to promote e-books and other virtual products. As a result, the market always stays fresh. This is especially the case if people promote Clickbank products that people are always searching&#8230; like romance or how to make money.</p>
<p>This affiliate network is also one of the few affiliate networks where you can actually promote your own product without paying exorbitant fees. So, if you decide you&#8217;re bored with promoting other people&#8217;s products, you can request that your product be added and make a different type of Clickbank income. No additional accounts are needed since all that information is available within your main account.</p>
<p>However, despite all these advantages, it&#8217;s important to consider ClickBank&#8217;s disadvantages too. And while admittedly there aren&#8217;t many, the network does have a relatively weak reporting system. Also, they provide no technical assistance for publishers, who are expected to create and maintain their own websites. Consequently, if you know nothing about website design you might be at a loss when trying to sell products through the ClickBank network.</p>
<p>On the upside, this network is very easy for affiliates. Simply use their Marketplace to find a product of interest. From there, select the link that says Create Hoplink. ClickBank will automatically generate your unique affiliate link for that program. And you can test the link by performing a dummy purchase. If your affiliate ID is at the bottom of the purchase page, then everything is working properly and you should be making a Clickbank income in no time.</p>
<p>Consider too that ClickBank does not place strict limitations on its affiliates. You can do whatever you want to promote your links, just as long as everything remains legal. This means you don&#8217;t have to feel guilty about email promotion or incentive marketing&#8230; methods that are normally shunned by traditional affiliate networks.</p>
<p>In conclusion, my overall consensus is that ClickBank is an excellent network for beginning affiliates. The tracking mechanism might be a bit discouraging, but other than that the interface is highly effective and user-friendly. And, most importantly, when you do make a sale, ClickBank will promptly send you a check in the mail.</p>

<p style="font-family: arial;">Frank hit it right on the head. If you want to make money, and lots of it, you have to be making offers. That is the one action that makes more money than anything else. Making offers.</p>
<p style="font-family: arial;">Whether it’s creating your own new products to offer to your customers, or running a special discount offer, or even promoting someone else’s product where you get paid, making offers is what creates the cash.</p>
<p style="font-family: arial;">Not fiddling with SEO. Not posting on Twitter all day. Not surfing Facebook. Not hanging out on discussion forums. And not spending countless hours of your time on research.</p>
<p style="font-family: arial;">Now all of those things certainly have value, and some of them have a lot of value. But without making offers and selling stuff you aren’t going to make much money.</p>
